ACP Offers Recommendations to Support LGBTQ+ Health Care Equity

WASHINGTON June 24, 2024—Although progress has been made in addressing health disparities and reducing social inequality for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and other sexual or gender minority (LGBTQ+) populations, new challenges have surfaced that harm the health and well-being of those populations, says the American College of Physicians (ACP) in a new policy paper published today.

The American College of Physicians is seeking physician members to speak with Medical School Internal Medicine Interest Groups (IMIGs), through ACP’s Speakers’ Bureau, about the importance of choosing internal medicine as a career path. There will also be other opportunities to engage with residents and early career physicians.

Purpose:

Mobile App Community Lead

Involvement type:

The American College of Physicians is seeking physician members to lead engaging conversations in the new mobile app, ACP Connect, member unique interest communities.

Purpose:

A Community Lead engages members in specific ACP Connect mobile app communities, such as medical students, residents, Women in Medicine, etc. With the goal to facilitate participation and interaction the Community Leads share conversation starter posts, such as medical or advocacy articles, or pose a question.

This app is accessible only on cell and tablet devices.
