Volunteers are needed to assist in ACP’s pretest effort by answering ACP MKSAP questions. Pretest results will help ACP MKSAP learners compare their performance with that of their peers. These data will also help our physician editors psychometrically validate our self-assessment questions to ensure they are well-constructed, fair, and accurate, and to identify gaps in our learners' knowledge to guide content development.
For each set of questions answered, pretest volunteers will have one opportunity to be entered into a drawing to win one of five 1-year ACP MKSAP subscriptions – a value of up to $825 – including 16 syllabus sections and nearly 2,000 new multiple-choice questions in the feature-rich, freshly redesigned ACP MKSAP digital program (plus mobile apps). Volunteer test-takers will be signed up on a first-come, first-served basis, and only a limited number of volunteers will be accepted for each test.
How to Qualify for a Chance to Win a MKSAP Subscription
To qualify for a chance to win a 1-year subscription to ACP MKSAP, volunteers must submit a completed set of questions online, as instructed. All tests must be completed by April 11, 2025. Winners of a 1-year ACP MKSAP subscription will be notified by May 1, 2025. If you are already an ACP MKSAP subscriber, we will extend your subscription for 1 year if you're chosen to win a free program.
Guidelines for Participation
To participate in the ACP MKSAP pretest effort, access the questions at mksap.acponline.org/pretest. To help ensure that the pretest results reflect general knowledge and not the expertise of subspecialists, pretest-takers will be limited to answering questions outside of their subspecialty area. Your recorded answers will be saved, and you may answer a subspecialty's questions over multiple sessions before the April 11 deadline. After you complete each test, you will receive a report recording your responses and showing which you have answered correctly. The pretest will not include access to related ACP MKSAP content, the correct answers, or the critiques, and requests for access to these components following the pretest process will not be granted. The ACP MKSAP pretest is not a CME activity.
