Recap of the Internal Medicine Meeting held in Boston, MA, April 18-20, 2024
The Career and Professional Development Center in the Exhibit Hall was a one-stop shop for networking, Physician Peer Coaching, Mini But Mighty Skills sessions, and recharging in the Well-being Fun Zone.
Mini But Mighty Skills for Well-being: Practical Tips for Building an Inclusive Community (15 minutes)
- Identify how to promote and increase belonging in your health care system, clinic, or practice.
Mini But Mighty Skills for Well-being: Optimize Your Professional Online Presence (15 minutes)
- Identify how to share and amplify your professional mission and message online.
Mini But Mighty Skills for Well-being: How to Give and Receive Meaningful Feedback (15 minutes)
- Learn how to give and receive feedback constructively to nurture psychological safety in your learning and working environments.
Mini But Mighty Skills for Well-being: Explore Your Career Opportunities
- Identify strategies to create career opportunities and professional fulfillment.
ACP Physician Peer Coaching
The Career and Professional Development Center also offered a variety of peer coaching sessions. Members took advantage of 1:1 Career Coaching opportunities and Group Coaching sessions. Some of the topics for the Group Coaching sessions included: How to Silence Your Inner Critic and Navigating Career Transitions. Participants stated they left their coaching sessions feeling "inspired" and "motivated." Well-being Fun Zone: Career Vision Boards
Members could take a break and recharge at the Internal Medicine Meeting by engaging in activities in the Well-being Fun Zone such as vision boards, career advice, and support systems. We also offered sensory grounding tools, badge ribbons, and snacks to keep ideas flowing.

WBC Monthly Group Coaching
WBCs are eligible to attend a 1-hour, monthly group coaching session. This month's topic was Sharing and Publishing Your Well-Being Work, facilitated by ACP WBC Coach and North Carolina Governor Marion McCrary, MD, FACP. Upcoming sessions are scheduled for June 4 and July 16. Look out for emails with links to register. WBCs can access materials and recordings from group coaching sessions on My ACP.
