The Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) presents the recommended immunization schedule for adults aged 19 years or older for 2018. This schedule has been approved by the ACIP, the American College of Physicians, the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and the American College of Nurse-Midwives.
Use this guideline to:
- Review the recommended immunization schedule. What's new this year? What changed in the recommendations regarding MMR immunization? How about zoster vaccination?
- Consider the importance of reviewing your patients' immunization status. What systems are in place to facilitate keeping patients up to date with immunizations? Are these systems effective? How do you know for sure?
- Review what is known about how well practices perform in adult immunization. Consider where the problems lie, and think about interventions to address each problem. How would you assess whether each intervention works?
Annals of Internal Medicine is the premier internal medicine academic journal published by the American College of Physicians (ACP). It is one of the most widely cited and influential specialty medical journals in the world.
