Development and Evaluation of a Comprehensive Prediction Model for Incident Coronary Heart Disease Using Genetic, Social, and Lifestyle–Psychological Factors: A Prospective Analysis of the UK Biobank

Frequently used models for predicting coronary heart disease include the pooled cohort equation and the PREVENT equation in the United States and the QRISK3 equation in the United Kingdom. This article examines whether adding information about genetic, social, lifestyle, and psychological factors to these equations improves their ability to predict coronary heart disease.

Hard Palate Squamous Cell Carcinoma and Chemotherapy Hypertoxicity in a Young Adult Leading to a Diagnosis of Fanconi Anemia
Individuals with Fanconi anemia (FA) have a significantly higher risk for developing Head and Neck Squamous Cell Carcinomas (HNSCC). Due to impaired DNA-crosslink-damage-repair mechanisms in individuals with FA, they have significant toxicity to platinum chemotherapy.

Register now for ACP's annual national advocacy event on April 28–29 in Washington, DC! Help ACP increase its presence on Capitol Hill and advocate directly with Congress in support of legislation impacting internal medicine physicians and your patients. Leadership Day is an ACP member-exclusive event and is free for medical students. If you are interested in attending, please first contact your ACP chapter governor, before registering, as state chapters typically coordinate their delegations participating in Leadership Day. Space is limited and the deadline to register is Thursday, April 10.
