Advocacy Update: New Health Policy Interns Chosen for Washington Internship
Tracey L. Henry, MD, MPH, MS and Eugene Shenderov, PhD have been chosen as the 2013 ACP Health Policy Interns. Dr. Henry is currently a resident at the Ochsner Clinic Foundation in New Orleans; she has been involved with advocacy activities both with ACP and other organizations, previously earning a Master in Public Health with a concentration in Health Systems and Policy. Mr. Shenderov is a medical student at Johns Hopkins University, having completed the PhD portion of an MD/PhD program in Immunology.
The internship, which will take place in May 2013 allows one Associate member and one Medical Student member the opportunity to gain legislative knowledge and skills while working with the College's Washington office. Tracey and David will assist in preparation for ACP's annual Leadership Day program that brings ACP members from across the country to Washington to advocate directly with their members of Congress on issues important to internists.
Applications for the 2014 internships will be accepted starting in summer 2013. Learn more about the ACP Health Policy Internship Program.
