Global Physician Scholar Program Is Back!

The Global Physician Scholar Program Opens March 31st!

ACP's Global Physician Scholar (GPS) Program provides opportunities for early and mid-career internal medicine physicians from outside the United States and Canada to participate in a four-week experience to enhance their expertise in the prevention, diagnosis, and/or management of clinical issues in Internal Medicine and the subspecialties. New this year, post-graduate trainees (PGY 3-5) in their final years of training before obtaining a medical license for independent practice, are eligible for the Global Physician Scholar Program.

“Through this opportunity, I've gained invaluable insights into advanced adherence strategies for heart failure patients, enhancing my clinical expertise and broadening my global health care perspective. My time at Broward Health Center has deepened my understanding of medical practices in developed countries and strengthened my abilities as a clinician, ultimately improving the quality of care I provide.”

- Eliezer Dade, MD, 2023 – 24 Global Physician Scholar, Hosted by Dr. Arnoux Blanchard at Broward Health Center

Program highlights include:

  • Participate in a one-month experience at an academic medical institution in the United States or Canada, preferably in March/April 2026.
  • Engage in individual/group clinical and educational experiences.
  • Implement an independent project in your home country post-GPS to improve the delivery of care in your selected expertise.
  • Receive funding to attend ACP's Internal Medicine Meeting 2026 in San Franscico, California, where you'll benefit from educational courses, share experiences with colleagues, and be recognized for your award.
