Jose Lozada-Costas, MD, FACP, ACP Governor
Dear Colleagues:
It is with mixed feelings that I write this last message to all of you. The past four years have required a lot of hard work, but have been incredibly rewarding. Let me start by thanking you all for the privilege of being Governor of our Chapter. I really appreciate the trust you showed me, and it was really an honor to work with so many of you. I also have to state once more how PROUD I am of all of you. Your dedication and resilience in the aftermath of hurricane Maria was impressive, and you should all take pride in that.
I also want to thank three gentlemen without whom doing this would have been impossible. Dr. Edwin Alicea, our treasurer, has for a long time been keeping our finances on track. Dr. Ricardo Fernandez, president of our scientific committee, made sure all our scientific programs were first rate. And Dr. Francisco Díaz-Lozada, who did all of the organizational work, particularly for the vignette competitions and Doctor's Dilemma. They deserve the credit for keeping things running.
I also want to welcome Mrs. Rina Vega, our newly appointed Chapter staff. She has done a truly outstanding job over the past year and a half, working tirelessly to make sure everything runs smoothly at our meetings.
Last but certainly not least I want to welcome our new Governor, Dr. Myriam Allende Vigo. I know our Chapter will be in excellent hands, and look forward to continued collaboration.
I wish all of you continued success, and remain at your service both as a member of the College and in my personal capacity. Again, I am very humbled by this opportunity. It's been an honor.
