From your Governor
What a great Idaho Hindson/ACP Winter Conference! Special thank you to the planning committee who planned the event. After many years, the Idaho Chapter of the ACP will be redesigning annual meeting separate from the Hindson Foundation. A survey is available to get your input in planning the meeting. Please consider joining the planning committee! Thank you to the Hindson Foundation for the years of support of the Idaho ACP Chapter.
Leadership Day is coming up! This year it will be April 28-29, 2025 in Washington, D.C. This is a wonderful opportunity in which we will meet with our legislators and advocate for issues affecting our patients and practices in Idaho. If you have any special ties or a relationship with any Idaho elected officials we would appreciate your help or attendance. ACP national has provided the chapter some funding to help with travel costs. If you are interested in attending please contact me. Please join us!
As the Idaho 2025 legislative session is underway, Idaho ACP will be working to join other local organizations such as the IMA to advocate on a state level. Please join us!
Idaho ACP Winter Conference 2025
The Winter Conference was held in McCall, ID, January 16 – 19, 2025. This year we had clear roads to attend the conference in McCall, much better than the blizzard conditions of 2024. The meeting was well attended and covered topics from dermatology, to cardiology, to cancer, contraception, and more. Our abstract winners that will be heading to the national ACP conference in New Orleans in April are:
Quality Improvement
Matthew Bird, DO for Penicillin Allergy Delabeling at the Boise VA Medical Center
Clinical Vignette
Jacob Kirkpatrick, DO for Beyond the Lung: Disseminated Coccidioidomycosis in an Immunocompetent Patient

A Special Thank You
The chapter asked for donations during our meeting to McPaws , the animal shelter in McCall. We wanted to give back to the community that hosted us and were able to contribute cash, treats, and dog food to the animals in need. Thank you to all who contributed.

Advocates for Internal Medicine Network (AIMn) and Legislative Action Center
Join more than 15,000 colleagues in the Advocates for Internal Medicine Network (AIMn) in advocating for the interests of internal medicine in Washington, D.C. and across the country. The AIMn program is for ACP members interested in participating in federal advocacy. It is designed to help members engage with their federal lawmakers on policy issues important to ACP and internal medicine. Follow@AdvocatesIM
One way to engage your members of Congress is through the Legislative Action Center Legislative Action Center. The Legislative Action Center (LAC) is a digital advocacy hub which empowers ACP members to take action on critical health policy issues. It is a user-friendly advocacy tool that makes it simple to connect with your legislators, share your perspective, post to social media, and drive meaningful change.
With ready-to-use talking points and customizable emails to lawmakers, the LAC equips you with everything you need to advocate effectively and efficiently. Join ACP's efforts to influence health policy—your voice matters!
AIMn members also have access to The Capitol Key Newsletter, an e-newsletter distributed to AIMn members periodically throughout the year. It features the grassroots advocacy activities of AIMn members and news about key advocacy events.
