Candidate Bios

Candidate Statement: My interest is to help the ACP, institution which I’ve always admired, increase their impact in the practice of medicine. For many years, I’ve been dedicated to the education of students, new doctors and specialists in Internal Medicine. I’ve chaired a variety of organizations, with emphasis on improving the medical practice. As Medical Director, I’ve worked towards accreditation of Joint Commission and IM Program, while promoting other programs, such as the new cardiology fellowship, while being a consultant to multiple areas in the hospital. I’ve been president of the Medical Board in PR, and founding member of the College of Surgeon Physicians of PR. Our chapter needs to unify doctors and the community through education of what an Internist represents and nurture physician’s knowledge; having empathy with the current challenges faced by Internists, asking them about their concerns and giving purpose to the institution, motivating doctors to become members.
