The Virginia Chapter will be holding a fund drive during the Annual Meeting for two local area charities: Arlington Free Clinic (AFC) and Northern Virginia Mental Health Foundation (NVMHF). Donations can be made using the QR codes below.
About the Arlington Free Clinic
For thirty years, Arlington Free Clinic (AFC), a community-based, volunteer-driven nonprofit, has provided free, high-quality healthcare to Arlington County adults impacted by significant inequities in accessing and achieving optimal health outcomes. With the help of roughly 350 volunteers and 43 full/part-time staff, AFC provides access to comprehensive, patient-centered services including women’s healthcare, primary/specialty medical care, behavioral health services, dental care, physical therapy, vaccines, and referrals to non-medical safety-net services (the social determinants of health) such as food, housing, and transportation, which are essential to overall health and well-being.
About the Northern Virginia Mental Health Foundation
The mission of the Northern Virginia Mental Health Foundation (NVMHF) is to raise awareness and acceptance of persons with mental health issues and provide individuals seeking mental health services in our community with the funding necessary to achieve their wellness goals.
Founded in 1993, NVMHF is an all-volunteer organization that serves individuals who are Seriously Mentally Ill and are in treatment with the Fairfax-Falls Church Community Services Board [CSB], the public behavioral health agency for Fairfax County and the cities of Falls Church and Fairfax. When an individual needs goods or services in order to move forward on their treatment plan and funding is not available, the CSB case manager can apply directly to NVMHF for a grant to pay for these goods or services. Thousands of individuals have been supported with job training, medical or dental services, and rental or security deposits as a result of this funding, and they are able to continue along their path to recovery with renewed hope and goals.

ACP is a community that values collegiality, respect for patients and each other, and medicine’s standards of ethics and professionalism. ACP members are guided by the content and spirit of the ACP Pledge and by their commitment to the ethics of medicine, including those in the ACP Ethics Manual. “Physicians’ conduct as professionals and as individuals should merit the respect of the community.”

As set forth in ACP’s Anti-Harassment Policy, ACP does not tolerate any form of harassment, including intimidation, hostility, or other unwelcome and offensive communication or treatment.
If you experience or observe harassing, inappropriate or otherwise unprofessional behavior, or you have concerns about how you have been treated by an ACP member or staff or anyone else at an ACP meeting or event, you may report the incident to acpevents@acponline.org or call 215 351-7750.
