Voting for the next Governor-elect begins September 27, 2024, and concludes on November 1, 2024.
Eligible voting members (MACPs, FACPs, Members, and 2-year Resident/Fellow Members with an elect date of 9/1/2022 or earlier) will receive an election email containing their unique and personal voting credentials to vote online.
- Ballot materials are not sent from ACP directly. ACP has partnered with Survey & Ballot Systems (SBS) to conduct the election.

Candidate Bios
Candidate Statement: Because of my organisational achievements in CCM and record in promoting CCM and CPR. I (a Fellow of ACP) would like to consider myself for position of Governor of Bangladesh Chapter of ACP. The following will support my candidacy. • Founder President, Bangladesh Society of Critical Care Medicine (BSCCM) 2009 to 2022. • President, Bangladesh Life Support Foundation 2012 and has been training doctors and nurses in different places in Bangladesh in basic and advanced CPR through this foundation. • Established MD (postgraduate) course in CCM in Bangladesh 2007. So far close to 100 physicians have qualified in this course. • Established model ICUs in ten different general hospitals in Bangladesh. Since 2000. • Pioneer in establishing CPR workshops in major hospitals of Bangladesh since 1995. Has personally certified more than 4000 doctors & nurses. • Organised five International conferences in CCM in Bangladesh since 2013.

Maintained liaison with office bearers of Bangladesh chapter of ACP and had them involved in academic program of the CCM congress

Other Appointments/Activities: As President of Bangladesh Society of Critical care Medicine hosted International conference on CCM in 2023 in Bangladesh; Lifetime achievement award for contribution in Medicine by Chittagong Medical College alumni of N A in its global reunion in New York in 2023; Involved in management of critically ill COVID-19 patients at United Hospital ICU between 2020-23.

Candidate Statement: I have been working with the core members involved in the activities of ACP in Bangladesh since 2001, so serving that institute in Bangladesh as a leader is a long-term vision for me. I want to work in collaboration with all levels of physicians to uphold the ACP's position among Bangladeshi doctors, especially internists. I.M. proud to be a specialist in internal medicine. I will work for the internal medicine doctors in Bangladesh and will excel at the activities of the Bangladesh chapter. I shall try hard to communicate our challenges and achievements to the Board of Governors and will work together to move forward to the excellent patient care and medical education. Post-Doctoral Training: I trained in internal medicine from 1988 to 1991 at Dhaka Medical College as an assistant registrar and registrar as a prerequisite for the fellowship in internal medicine from the Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons (BCPS). After being qualified as a fellow in internal medicine, I worked as a postgraduate registrar in the same institute from 1992 to 1994.
Board Certifications: After completing the training in internal Medicine, I qualified for the fellowship in internal medicine in January 1992 from BCPS, which is named as FCPS (Fellow of the College of Physicians and surgeons). I earned my MD in internal medicine from the University of Dhaka in 2001 (in Bangladesh, MD is a postgraduate degree after MBBS).
Present Employment Position: Professor of Medicine
ACP Chapter and Leadership Activities: Member, Advisory Council (The council meets regularly to guide the activities of the Chapter); Chairman, Research Committee (This year our chapter awarded 2 residents and 2 early career physicians with a research grant)
ACP National Activities: Fellowship 2005; Membership 2002; Awardee, International Fellowship Exchange Program 2006 (I worked in the department of rheumatology at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston)
