The Chapter Centennial Legacy Award celebrates ACP's centennial by recognizing one influential chapter member who served the chapter and made a significant impact on the chapter's viability. The award winner should exemplify ACP's core values, including leadership, excellence, respect, compassion, professionalism, and responsibility.
Douglas S. Paauw, MD, MACP served as governor of the Washington Chapter of ACP from 2002-2006. He led the chapter growth, service to member, engagement with students and residents, advocacy, and developed the annual meeting as an exceptionally rated educational scientific program. Dr. Paauw is a Professor of Medicine and Student Clerkship Director at the University of Washington. He is the ACP advisor to the University of Washington's Student Osler Club. Since 1991, Dr. Paauw has directed the ACP Seattle Board Review Course.
