The Chapter Centennial Legacy Award celebrates ACP's centennial by recognizing one influential chapter member who served the chapter and made a significant impact on the chapter's viability. The award winner should exemplify ACP's core values, including leadership, excellence, respect, compassion, professionalism, and responsibility.
Robert G. Strickland, MD, MACP, has served ACP in various positions for 40 years. He was the governor of the New Mexico chapter from 2003-2007, served as the president of the New Mexico chapter, and was the New Mexico Chapter Scientific Program Chair. During Dr. Strickland's time as governor, the chapter received 10 national ACP awards. Under his leadership, interaction between the New Mexico chapter and the University of New Mexico's Department of Internal Medicine was enhanced.
