The Chapter Centennial Legacy Award celebrates ACP's centennial by recognizing one influential chapter member who served the chapter and made a significant impact on the chapter's viability. The award winner should exemplify ACP's core values, including leadership, excellence, respect, compassion, professionalism, and responsibility.
Cecil B. Wilson, MD, MACP served as ACP's Chair of the Board of Regents from 2002-2003. He is a board member of the American Society of Internal Medicine (ASIM), and served the Florida Society of Internal Medicine as secretary, treasurer, vice-president and president-elect. Dr. Wilson served on the committee that led the ACP-ASIM merger.
His peers have elected him president Florida Medical Association, the American Medical Association, and the World Medical Association. Dr. Wilson is a fixture at ACP's Florida chapter events. He exemplifies the definitions of mentor, teacher, friend, humanitarian, visionary, and leader.
