Joseph Bozzay is a fourth-year medical student at West Virginia University. He knew he had a passion for medicine at a young age and prepared for medical school by earning an undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering at the University of Virginia. Throughout medical school, he actively participated in several clinical research projects as well as community outreach opportunities. Joe attended medical school under the Army Health Professions Scholarship Program and recently matched to a general surgery residency at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, MD. He hopes to eventually pursue a fellowship in one of several fields, including vascular or cardiothoracic surgery.
