Ola Al-Sous, MD, completed an internal medicine residency and continued to a chief year at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, MI. She graduated from Damascus University, Syria. Ola enjoys teaching very much and is interested in a future career as teaching internist focusing on high-value practice, and teaching and educating patients about chronic diseases management. She instructs simulation workshops at her current program at St. Joseph Mercy where she helped the program developing a 'transition of care' curriculum.
Ola has also been working with her associate program director on improving residents' inpatient diabetes management. She runs weekly rounds with the endocrine consult resident on the internal medicine teams' patients and provides feedback on diabetes control. She enjoys hiking, traveling and exploring other cultures. Volunteering is very rewarding and she likes spending time giving back to the community. "Family is very important for me and I enjoy spending time with them," she says.
