The Chapter Centennial Legacy Award celebrates ACP's centennial by recognizing one influential chapter member who served the chapter and made a significant impact on the chapter's viability. The award winner should exemplify ACP's core values, including leadership, excellence, respect, compassion, professionalism, and responsibility.
Ramon F. Soto, MD, MACP is an internal medicine leader with a career in internal medicine and critical care medicine. Dr. Soto opened the first intensive care unit at the largest obstetrical hospital in Venezula and began the resident training for critical care, mainly in the treatment of women served as the Governor of ACP's U.S. Navy Chapter from 1999-2003 and then as a member of the Board of Regents. She was the chair of the first chapter meeting for the U.S. Navy, overcoming obstacles and setting the standard for meetings to follow. Dr. Lazarus continues to mentor Governors, seeks out members for Fellowship, and encourages students to pursue careers in internal medicine.
