This hands-on 2-day course is designed to teach core POCUS skills to internal medicine physicians, centering on the needed skills to use ultrasound as a patient assessment tool in a variety of settings.
If you are interested in the potential for POCUS to expand your clinical reasoning skills, join this course taught by internationally acclaimed faculty. Online pre-learning assignments and live lectures will provide a comprehensive foundation of core ultrasound knowledge. Utilizing a small-group, hands-on format, attendees will practice ultrasound scanning on live models to support the development of bedside image acquisition skills.
Please note that Coding for POCUS is not part of this course. For comprehensive coding content, consider enrolling in ACP Coding for Clinicians, which offers comprehensive coding education materials including self-guided multimedia, videos, and downloadable pocket guides. ACP Coding for Clinicians includes Coding for POCUS, where you'll learn the requirements to appropriately bill for POCUS services, review commonly reported CPT codes and modifiers, and identify key strategies to streamline POCUS billing. Also included is content on combining procedure coding with evaluation and management codes, as well as information on supervision of learners, the updated inpatient codes, and new value-based payment systems.

Does POCUS make sense for my practice?
Rural Settings: POCUS can provide critical access to care in rural areas and for patients who may be home-bound. Image acquisition and related skills can be invaluable for physicians with limited resources.
Urban Settings: Time is critical, and POCUS helps internal medicine physicians diagnose faster, making all the difference to patients in need.
Global Settings: POCUS has been proven to be a portable, reliable resource that empowers physicians to diagnose patients in clinics and medical sites worldwide.
