To address these concerns, the NMLRC supports strengthened patient safety efforts and alternative dispute resolution mechanisms. We strongly support the adoption of the following tort reforms: l) $250,000 limit on noneconomic damages; 2) periodic payment of future damages over $100,000; 3) elimination of double payment of losses; 4) a reasonable statute of limitations; 5) a sliding scale for contingency fees; and 6) proportionate liability among all parties.","Title":"Liability.
