ACP Letter Expressing Concern About the I CAN Act, H.R. 8812
Synopsis
While ACP appreciates the goal of increasing patient access to clinicians, ACP is greatly concerned that that the Improving Care and Access to Nurses Act, or the 'I CAN Act,' H.R. 8812 goes much too far in allowing non-physician clinicians to deliver care that is not commensurate with their training, skills, and demonstrated competencies in accord with national standards.
