Governor's Message:
Happy 2025 everyone.
What are you looking forward to this year? Men's College World Series or Supernova Volleyball? The release of Wicked Part 2? For me, the ACP Internal Medicine Meeting in New Orleans will be the highlight of my spring. I am excited to share my hometown with many of my favorite Nebraskans, and I hope to see many of you there.
With the new year, we also have many changes that affect how we practice medicine, from insurance formularies to government regulations. With change, it is important that we find opportunities to remain grounded amidst turmoil. Through some of our ACP actives over the next few months, I hope you can find an opportunity to connect, recharge, and work toward your goals for the new year. You will see below we have opportunities to learn, advocate, and socialize. What activities help you energize or find calm outside medicine?
Heading out to throw the cast net in my happy palace, Grand Isle, La, with 2 of my 3 kids, hoping for some blue crabs.

Calling all Resident/Fellows and Medical Students
ABCs of Advocacy
Learn the ways you can advocate to be effective and have your voice heard. This training will take you through different approaches and you will leave ready to weigh in on issues that affect you and your patients.
This is - NOT a lecture! This is - NOT a panel discussion!
What is it? Hmmm. Maybe a roundtable event without any round tables?
Bring your concerns and let us get to work on how to get started with action using ACP Policy structures, validated advocacy tools and each other's wisdom.
What is in it for you? - An opportunity to form connection with individuals sharing your interests, improved knowledge of NE and Federal health policy structures, free food and drink, a certificate of participation in an ACP sponsored advocacy event for your CV.

Being an FACP® is a distinction earned from colleagues who recognize your accomplishments and achievements over and above the practice of medicine.
