Governor's Welcome

I am excited to assume the role of governor of the Idaho ACP chapter. Thank you to Lisa Inouye for her mentorship and excellent leadership over the last 4 years. It has been exciting attending the ACP national meeting in Boston and Leadership Day in DC this year. I look forward to meeting more ACP members! My goals for the next 4 years include increasing membership, advancing more ACP members to fellowship and increasing statewide involvement in ACP.

Leadership Day 2024

About Leadership Day: Leadership Day is the College's annual two-day advocacy event that enables our members from across the country to bring our issues of concern to U.S. lawmakers. This is a great opportunity for the College and our members to bring our policy priorities to Congress and try to influence the legislative process on behalf of internal medicine. This year, Leadership Day was held May 14-15th in Washington DC. Four Idaho chapter members (Lisa Inouye, MD, Lesleigh Box, MD, Austin Dopp, MD (R3), Maria Reinhardt (MS3) were able to attend and speak for Idaho. They advocated for co-sponsorship of HR 2630/S 652 the Safe Step Act (reform step therapy to improve patient access to treatments), HR 2389/S1302 the Resident Physician Shortage Reduction Act of 2023 (increase Medicare supported GME physicians to reduce physician shortages), HR 6545 the Physician Fee Schedule Update and Improvements Act (to ensure appropriate physician compensation). Idaho ACP appreciated the attention of the members of congress and their staff and their work to improve healthcare in Idaho.

ACP Fellowship

Are you interested in becoming a Fellow of the American College of Physicians? Fellowship in the College is an honor. Being an FACP® is a distinction earned from colleagues who recognize your accomplishments and achievements over and above the practice of medicine. The most important considerations for ACP Fellowship are excellence and contributions made to both medicine and to the broader community in which the internist lives and practices.

ACP Fellowship is primarily achieved through advancement from ACP Membership.* Fellows are authorized to use the letters FACP (Fellow of the American College of Physicians) in connection with their professional activities for as long as their membership remains current. FACP is a federally registered service mark and is defined as providing recognition by way of an honorific. Fellows of the American College of Physicians have the right to vote, hold office, and sponsor applicants for Membership and Fellowship.
