Dear Brothers & Sisters, Greetings!

Winter wading, Summer with Scorching Sun and Days are longer, help yourself with more liquid intakes to resist heat, keeping you fit and combat temperature!. This newsletter stocks the latest on our chapter's activities and accomplishments. Please take a few minutes to appraise & analyse.

Our Chapter is doing exceptionally Good, with increased memberships; CMEs; Webinars more delegates to IMM 2019 & more fellowships applicants! I am doubly delighted on Dr. Andy Dunn acceptance to be the ACP Ambassador for this year Annual Chapter Meeting at Kolkata! He is the Chair of ACP Board of Regents. His Biosketch & the chosen topic Direct Oral Anticoagulants: Pearls & Pitfalls. Perioperative Management of Anticoagulation will definitely arrest the audience!

In the months ahead, encounter to be engaged. Uphold your membership with ACP, summon colleagues to join, volunteer for a position, present at a chapter workshop or conference, call for CMEs, be an activist when called upon, and share your spell and insight with students and residents.

ACP India Annual Internal Medicine Congress Kolkata August 2019

A committee meeting was held in the last week of February, to decide on the proceedings of the meeting.

ACP Internal Medicine Conference 2019 at Philadelphia

This year the American College of Physicians Internal Medicine was held on April 11-13, 2019 at Philadelphia. Internal Medicine Meeting 2019 was the only meeting of its kind combining clinical skills with over 200 scientific sessions to update your knowledge in all facets of internal medicine and its subspecialties.

The best and brightest physicians from around the globe gathered on the occasion. Over 170 Scientific Sessions were recorded at ACP's Internal Medicine 2019 meeting. You can download the ACP Meetings App from your app store on phone and access information about sessions, speakers, exhibitions and more.

Physician well-being was a major theme at Internal Medicine Meeting 2019. The meeting also featured a Relaxation Station with a reflection wall where physician attendees could unwind, recharge devices, and take part in yoga or meditation.

Webinars – Diabetes Mellitus March 15th 2019

The ACP India Chapter hosted a webinar on Friday, March 15 at 8:00 PM India Time, led by Jack Ende, MD, MACP, ACP Immediate Past President. This webinar provided participants an opportunity for self-assessment and fast-paced learning. There was an opportunity to chat with colleagues in discussing important current concepts regarding Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus.

Webinar – Hypertension on May 1st 2019

The ACP India Chapter will host a free webinar for members on Wednesday, May 1 at 7:30 PM India Time, led by Robert M. Centor, Past Chair, ACP Board of Regents. This webinar will be an opportunity to interact with colleagues in discussing important current concepts regarding Hypertension.

MKSAP – Medical Knowledge Self Assessment Program

ACP India Chapter have purchased 10 set of MKSAP Print copies ($ 3143) from the Headquarters and distributed them to 10 Medical College Libraries for the student free access.

Changes in Membership Categories for FY2019/20

The changes were recommended to the ACP Board of Regents, who approved them during their February 12 webinar meeting. All of these changes will be implemented in the FY2019/20 membership year beginning on July 1, 2019.

  1. Fellowship - Expand to three years the minimum time of post-residency membership and professional experience required for advancement to Fellowship.
  2. Fellowship - Require three consecutive years of membership dues be paid prior to advancing to Fellowship.
