GOVERNOR'S MESSAGE

For those who couldn't make it to Boston for the 2024 ACP Internal Medicine Meeting, you probably ask yourself: how was the annual meeting? It was big, of course, with thousands of people attending. But what struck me the most was this – diversity. People from around the globe, any ethnicity, any age or gender, any scholarship, gathering in Boston to attend the same meeting. Messages and videos from ACP were indeed reminding us that diversity, equity and inclusion are among the values most cherished by ACP.

Presentations were also very diversified, going from old physical exam techniques for a diagnosis to artificial intelligence and the future of medicine.

The Convocation ceremony was another highlight, where many new Fellows (FACP) and those with Mastership (MACP) were honored for their contribution to internal medicine and to ACP. This year, the Quebec Chapter is delighted to welcome Dr. Iyad Ksseiry as a new Fellow (photo below). Congratulations, Dr. Ksseiry!

While I was looking at all those attendees and colleagues around me, those curious and intelligent detectives in search of mysteries to solve, I was thinking: I'm so proud of being an internist! I.M. Proud!
