This award is bestowed upon a physician executive or leader of a national or international medical organization for distinguished contributions to internal medicine or significant impact on improving health care and/or medical education beyond a single institution or health system. The physician executive/leader should be an employee not serving in an elected position. Nominations of women and underrepresented or marginalized groups are encouraged.
Nominating and supporting letters should address:
- The nominee's significant contributions to internal medicine or to the improvement of health care and/or medical education.
- How the work has had national or international impact.
- How the nominee’s contributions have been sustained over time.
